Silly theories lol “The great wealth transfer: how Australian banks, supermarkets and airlines have moved billions from customers to shareholders. The finance sector dominates the list, with three of the big four retail banks represented, as well as the global investment bank and asset manager Macquarie Group. The banks collectively announced $6bn in buybacks after reporting their most recent financial results. Qantas, which posted a record annual profit before suffering recent share price weakness, also unveiled a buyback, as did Corporate Travel Management, which gained prominence earlier this year after securing a $3bn contract in the UK which includes managing a barge used to house asylum seekers.”
