Climate activism has the 'hallmarks of a religion'

Sky News host James Macpherson says climate activism has all the hallmarks of a "religion".

"The Sydney Morning Herald reporting on these protests in New York ... they quoted an 8-year-old... who said, 'I really want the earth to feel better," Mr Macpherson said.

"It does reflect a sort of religious belief that's being inculcated in the next generation.

"Protestors were talking about the terrible things that are going on around the world including the floods in Libya - well, that was a faulty dam."
